Concepts and final elements for the 2015 Much Music Video awards.
The Much Music Video Awards is an annual award show showcasing international and Canadian artists. The theme for the MMVA 15 was SYMBIOSIS: The mutual benefit of interacting for the betterment of both involved.
The idea behind this theme was the connection and interaction humans instinctually have with music that inspires us and takes us on a journey. Through an organic wonderland of creatures and environments we visually explore a unique, imaginative world that captures the energy and vibrance of the artists and music being honoured throughout the show.
Logo developments for the show title. Experimentation was done using Cinema 4D to create a logo the looks like a crystal-type substance.

Art Direction, illustration, animation and brand development for a children's music video channel. Pitching the idea to create a range of fun characters to act as brand ambassadors was so well received that one was selected to be made into a person-sized costume to be included in the Toronto Santa Claus Parade! Everything from the logo to promotional print elements to the entire on-air channel look and feel was entrusted to me to build from the ground up.
Final logo design and Juicebox brand ambassadors. The characters were used throughout the on-air channel design and in various print and digital forms such as the Juicebox website, flyers, t-shirts, balloons and other marketing materials.
The character “Angle” was chosen to be made into a life-sized costume and took part in the Toronto Santa Claus Parade to promote the channel.
Illustrative elements for on-air animation development.
Logo refinement and selected brand colours. The “Music For Kids” tag line needed to be incorporated into the logo design which was thoughtfully designed in a way that would enhance the logo rather than exist as a simple line of type tacked on.
Initial logo concepts and brand illustrations showing a range of kid-friendly quirky images.
Google Doodles are used to celebrate inspiring people such as scientists, artist and pioneers and to commemorate important anniversaries and holidays. Such a broad scope of subjects is an exciting opportunity to pay tribute to these special people and events through the art of illustration and animation. The challenge of using the Google logo in a unique and unexpected way based on the subject is this designers dream. Fun!
